Fostering Friendships Through Sports: Ming-Yang High School Hosts 2026 Inter-School Volleyball Exchange Tournament and Sports Challenge

To promote sports education, enhance students' physical fitness, foster friendships between inter-school faculty and students, and help students gain a sense of achievement, Ming-Yang High School organized the 2026 Inter-School Volleyball Exchange Tournament and Sports Challenge on May 15, 2026, at 2:00 PM.

The event was funded through the generous sponsorship of the Mr. Ting Sun-Hai Social Welfare and Charity Memorial Foundation. In his opening remarks, Principal Tu Zhi-Hong expressed his special gratitude to Senior Specialist Li Guan-Lin from the Education and Rehabilitation Division of the Agency of Corrections, Ministry of Justice, and Ms. Chen Xiu-Zu, CEO of the Foundation, for personally attending the event to cheer on the competing athletes.

The school invited 54 faculty members and students from the Department of Physical Education at National Kaohsiung Normal University (NKNU) for this athletic exchange. Prior to the main tournament, Professor Chen Zhu-Shang from NKNU, along with Ming-Yang's instructors, led students from both schools through a 5-station sports challenge featuring volleyball, basketball, table tennis, badminton, and handball, successfully kicking off the day's activities. Since the event focused on inter-school sports exchange, the tournament only recorded scores without ranking the teams. This allowed all students to showcase their skills to the fullest and bond over sports without any competitive pressure. Furthermore, the school arranged for all faculty and students to watch the volleyball matches together. Every individual on the sidelines became the ultimate cheerleader, and the waves of roaring cheers served as a powerful driving force for the players on the court.

Following the conclusion of the event, social workers utilized the "Electronic Family Communication Log" to upload live updates and photos from the day to the students' families. These updates were accompanied by short personal messages and reflections written by the students themselves, successfully building a bridge for parent-child communication and ensuring that family bonds remain unrestricted by physical walls.
