Expressing Gratitude with Carnations: Ming-Yang High School Hosts 2026 Mother's Day In-Person Family Visit
To provide students with the comfort of close family bonds and alleviate their longing for home, Ming-Yang High School hosted a Mother's Day In-Person Family Visitation Event on May 4, 2026, at 8:30 AM. The event brought together 84 students and 179 family members.
During the parent-teacher symposium, Principal Tu Zhi-Hong opened by wishing all visiting family members a Happy Mother's Day. He then presented certificates of appreciation to the Kaohsiung and Qiaotou branches of the Taiwan After-Care Association for their generous donation of cookies and beverages for the event. Additionally, Colon International Biotechnology Co., Ltd. donated 200 pots of orchids free of charge. The school's thoughtful arrangements allowed the families to fully experience the warm festive atmosphere, while reinforcing the connection between correctional education inside the walls and after-care services on the outside.
In the auditorium, the venue featured a video screening of the Kaohsiung TSG Hawks professional volleyball team's visit to the school for a volleyball workshop earlier this year. This was accompanied by educational campaigns on gender equality and anti-fraud awareness. This series of exchanges and interactions enlivened the atmosphere, helping families understand the students' daily lives at school while raising awareness about fraud tactics and government anti-fraud measures. Furthermore, the school specially prepared festive bouquets of carnations for each student to present to their family members as a token of heartfelt gratitude to their mothers.
The moment the family members—who had traveled from far and wide—stepped into the respective classroom venues, an indescribable joy instantly surged in the hearts of both sides. Treasuring every minute of their limited time together, students and families exchanged warm greetings and shared their longing for one another. Emotional embraces vividly manifested the deep bonds between the students and their loved ones. The event drew to a successful close amidst heartfelt blessings and reluctant farewells.
