On Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 2:55 PM to 4:40 PM, Mingyang High School held a "Drug and Drunk Driving Prevention" lecture in the auditorium. This course was led by Attorney Chen Chun-Chia of Gao Ding Law Firm, invited by the Ciaotou Branch of the Legal Aid Foundation. A total of 178 participants attended, including 75 faculty and staff members and 103 students.

Before delving into the main topic, Attorney Chen briefly introduced the Legal Aid Foundation's mission, application qualifications, and procedures, reminding students to be aware of their rights in legal proceedings.

Moving into the core of the lecture, Attorney Chen first explained the relevant provisions of the Drug Hazard Prevention Act. He warned students that penalties for manufacturing, selling, using, or transferring drugs are severe, urging them not to risk breaking the law. He then used videos to illustrate the appearance of drug users in real life, emphasizing that overcoming drug addiction is a lifelong struggle and that the physical and mental damage caused by drugs should not be underestimated.

Attorney Chen further introduced relevant penalties, using practical examples and legal regulations to help both teachers and students understand the dangers of alcohol to the mind, body, and spirit. He highlighted that major traffic incidents caused by drunk driving not only lead to self-harm but also shatter many families with irreparable grief. He hoped students could empathize with this pain and internalize the course content into concepts of law-abiding behavior and prevention. This aimed to ensure all participating faculty, staff, and students were familiar with legal regulations, took them as a warning, and established the safety principle of "don't drive after drinking, and don't drink when driving."

Through videos and explanations of legal provisions, this awareness lecture helped students understand that drugs and alcohol not only harm individuals but also endanger families and society. It is hoped that students will gain legal knowledge from this lecture, cultivate a law-abiding mindset, and consequently abandon reliance on drugs and alcohol.
