Melodies of Friendship – 113th Academic Year 1st Semester Interclass Recorder Music Competition

On December 24, 2024 (Tuesday) at 2:00 PM, Ming Yang High School held the 113th Academic Year 1st Semester Interclass Recorder Music Competition in the grand auditorium. The competition was conducted in a group format, with most classes incorporating piano or guitar accompaniment to enrich their performances.

Dedication and Perseverance

Leading up to the competition, students maximized their limited rehearsal time, despite setbacks caused by typhoon-related school closures and other school events. Some classes even considered withdrawing from the competition due to their inability to fully learn and practice the assigned pieces. However, thanks to the encouragement and dedicated guidance of music teachers, students rekindled their passion and determination to honor their commitment and deliver their best performances.

A Touching Moment

One of the most heartwarming moments of the event involved a student, Ah Xiang (pseudonym), who had been granted parole and was scheduled to leave the school before the competition. However, he insisted on staying to perform with his classmates, fulfilling his promise to stand by them one last time. After completing the performance, he left the school with joy and a sense of fulfillment, making the event even more meaningful.

Competition Results

Each class showcased their hard work and musical talents, creating a captivating and harmonious atmosphere. After a rigorous evaluation by the judges, the final results were announced:

🏆 Champion: Grade 12 Class A
🥈 Runner-up: Grade 10 Class C & Grade 11 Class A (tied)
🥉 Third Place: Grade 12 Class C

The competition not only highlighted students' musical skills but also fostered teamwork, resilience, and emotional connections. The beautiful melodies of the recorder, accompanied by the spirit of camaraderie, made this event an unforgettable experience for all participants.
